Look what I made!

This is the CGI “Treasure Box” that was my latest project for Across a Jade Sea.

Beside it is my two projects ago CGI creation: an origami fold. (Yes, okay, maybe it’s a bit odd to be making virtual origami folds… I made some out of real paper first.) Both the box and the fold have plot significance in Across a Jade Sea. Now onto the next project: the sixth and final map for the series.

I confess to sometimes wishing I could get my creations out of the computer. A 3D printer would cost only $500 dollars. But we need a new car first. And I just got a root canal, and still need a crown to go over it. And I'm also in a funk because I want to do an animated trailer for Black Flag, but it would need a soundtrack and I don't want to use public domain music when I've got all these songs I specifically wrote for this story. But how do I get those songs into a listenable condition? I need a mic that will record my concertina as the beautiful instrument it is, instead of making it sound thin and tinny and harsh. Or a concertina midi controller. Or *something*. (I thought about just trying to find the $$$ to get someone else to do it, and the problem with that is that I've written eight songs for Black Flag, and two for Scent of Spring, and so on and so on.... I would keep wanting to find the money for someone else to do it over and over and over again. Not a habit I can afford to get into.)

I hear you. I picked up some sample-based instruments for my DAW (Vienna Special Edition) and have been dithering forever on Komplete 9 because Kontakt would give me access to even more sample-based instruments--but it's a complete rabbit hole. Sympathies on the car & root canal; I had to get a crown redone recently and, ugh, unfun. I hope you find a workable solution. I know I want to hear your music the way you intended it!

(yoon at yoonhalee dot com) You never know--I don't know that I have the software for whatever you have in mind, but it's possible. =) (I can tell you already I don't have concertina, sadly. VSE is more traditional orchestra stuff. The full Symphonic Cube probably does have a concertina in there somewhere but I also can't afford it like whoa.)
